Photography by the very talented Hami Bahadori

Hi friends! This week I'm sharing my very first editorial shoot featuring pieces from H&M-- You can find these photos at Hami's Portfolio including many of his other beautiful works.

Working with Hami was a fantastic experience especially since I've never done indoor shoots before and I didn't know what to expect! These photographs make perfect sense to me because they captured the one character that defines who I am -- a Warrior! Fighting for what I love and chasing my dream no matter what it takes and what I have to do to get there... is my identity. I no longer tell myself to be brave and confident because at this moment I am brave and confident. That's the art in fashion and what it means to me to convey that in the way I dress and in all my photos. I've walked some tough roads and faced some difficult situations; still at the end of the day I can't believe I've gotten so far on my own. I feel like a brand new leaf turned over and I'm very thankful for all the support my friends and family have given me to grow more independent.

Seattle has just been such an eye opener on so many levels for myself and for my blog-- let that be work, city, friends, or the sushi. I can't wait for more exciting adventures and photograph experiments... now that I finally have a taste of what high fashion feels like! :)

CÉLINE Inspiration

Hi friends :) For about a year and a half now, I've been following Céline's handbag line-- I went from hating the boxy style to absolutely loving it. This post is dedicated to the famous Mini Luggage that has been all over the internet:

The classic black smooth leather tote! Goes with everything and a great addition , I mean GREAT addition, to your wardrobe-- Let that be work or play :) The Mini is 12"H X 12"W X 7"D and it's big enough to fit everything a girl has (literally). Unfortunately though it's getting pricier by the season-- (Information on Price Increase).

Some other colors that I dream about:

The tricolors are a little more expensive than the solid ones only because they are more rare and come during special seasons.

Speaking of the Minis I've discovered decent replicas on reputable online retailers--

1. Daily look - $74.99
5 different colors - Beige, Black, Black/White, Black/Beige, Black/Beige/Grey
I've actually purchased this one just last week! It's soft, sturdy and very similar to the real one in Beige-- I highly recommend this color! However I haven't seen the other colors in person yet but I would go for the solid ones over the tricolors.

2.  Oasap - $44.80

*The cutest replica of the Céline Nano (smallest size next to the Mini)*
3 different colors - Pink, Lavender, Mint
These colors are almost exactly the same as the real Nanos-- The pink one fits closer to my wardrobe colors but I would go for any of the three since they are all very tasteful.

3. H&M - $39.95
2 different styles - Solid and Reptile Pattern
The H&M handbags are slightly different than the rest but they particularly catch my eyes simply because they capture the unique boat feature. These bags are subtle and perfect for a profession setting however, note that the imitation leather on the other two beats the material on this one.

Stay tuned for more fashion updates--

Take me home where my dreams are made of gold

Lace Collar Navy Jacket (similar)
Beige Cardigan (similar)
Shopko Black Lace Cami
Garage Coral High Waist Jegging
Shoedazzle Black Wedge Booties
Forever 21 White Quilted Crossover (similar)
Ebay Gold Bar Charm Necklace

Hi friends! I'm home for the weekend to get one of my stubborn wisdom teeth out (is my right cheek a bit swollen?). The procedure was super fast and painless; I love my dentist she's like a second mommy :)
As promised this outfit post I'm wearing my wedge booties from Shoedazzle. I started doing weekly fashion updates along with my usual outfit posts (see all my outfits under "My Looks" tab in the menu bar above). In news of my travels, I'll be coming in and out of the West Coast a lot this year so I apologize in advanced-- I'm hoping to keep my updates as frequent as possible.

About the outfit:
Let's start off with my lace collar jacket! I bought this in Hong Kong last summer but I never got a chance to wear it. I fell in love with it recently because it reminds me of those cute and one of a kind jackets from Anthropologie and Free People! This jacket can go with anything I own - circle skirts, color pants, jeans, shorts, you name it. I have also been waiting to show off these coral pants from Garage! If you know me, I love pastel color bottoms such as mint, coral, and baby blue. These pants are definitely my Spring essential this season :)

Makeup that I'm wearing:
Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick 870 Shocking Coral

As always,

Seek me in the light (光) - Célfie

突然の光の中 目が覚める

*Inspired by Utada Hikaru's song 光, I wanted to be a little artsy and capture some light in my célfies. Playing with my camera before making pics for Take me home where my dreams are made of gold.*

My Oscars Ladies

Blogging from Seattle! I want to share my favorite dresses from the Oscars :)

Let's get right into it! First off--
My main girl Jennifer Lawrence

Her nomination:
JLaw was nominated for Best Supporting Actress in American Hustle! Good girl :) I loved her in Hunger Games and she's been climbing her career ever since. (I think she's definitely going to win one soon enough!)

Her look:
JLaw is wearing this stunning red strapless dress by Dior complimented by a gorgeous statement necklace from Neil Lane that dipped low in the back. Her posh blond locks are styled and teased back while her natural/minimal makeup brightens her blue eyes. I just love how the combination of her dress, hair, and makeup makes the entire look effortless and she is absolutely beautiful. There is no argument in that she is crowned as Best Dressed for the night!

JLaw with winner Matthew McConaughey! My heart still goes out for Leo but Matthew definitely deserves his trophy! One of my favorite pictures of the night.
Next up! Angelina Jolie--

Her look: She did not get nominated however, this forever fabulous and beauty icon will always know how to impress us at any red carpets! Angelina is spotted wearing this super sexy and embellished gown by Elie Saab. My goodness it is every girl's dream to own dresses by Elie Saab, Marchesa, and all these amazing talented designers. (I would wear ALL dresses that are couture!) Angelina's stylist made a good decision dressing her up in this sensational gown that perfectly show off her body yet maintains that calm seductive sexiness that she has. I also love how her hair is let down and styled over her shoulders. I always style my outfits like this where I make sure to tell my viewers to style your hair up or over your shoulders to not lose attention from the detailed top/dress to your hair(?!).

This look is brilliant and perfect for Angelina. Another Best Dressed for the night :) Definitely a "win."

This photo just makes my heart smile :) What a match made in heaven!

Finally my super star Lupita Nyong'o--

Her nomination:
Lupita is a huge breakout actress for her film 12 Years a Slave and she took home the Oscars for Best Supporting Actress! I haven't seen the movie yet but I did watch her interview with Conan just a few days ago. She's got a sweet personality and such awesome fashion sense! I love the way she expresses herself and how passionate she is about her home country Kenya. Love that fire about her! Keep going Lupita!

Her look:
Lupita is wearing this deep V empire waist gown by Prada. I'm obsessed with this baby blue dress and how beautiful and royal it looks on her! Without any long or drape-y necklaces (no need!), she rocks the dress with a cute simple gold headband, a pair of statement stud earrings, and subtle gold arm candies. Out of the three dresses mentioned here, Lupita's dress is definitely my style! I just love how it simple it is and yet so elegant. Can't wait to see what she'll be wearing next :)

Lovely lovely dress-- obsessed with how it drapes long over like an upside down flower. Good job Prada!

Until next time for more fashion updates!
